Gwinnett County will receive $52,274 in grants that will help the county fire department pay for new equipment.

County commissioners on Tuesday accepted two grants from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency and one from the Georgia Trauma Care Network. Some of the money will be used to replace rescue equipment used during building collapses, confined space rescues and high-angle rope rescues.

Other money will be used to help buy protective suits and manuals for the hazardous materials unit and needles for all emergency management vehicles.
