The city of Suwanee will celebrate the grand opening of the Orchard at White Street Park on Sunday, Oct 22.

The orchard officially opened to the public in May.

The space, part of Harvest Farm, is a community orchard where city residents can collectively grow and harvest produce.

The orchard sits on an acre of land near downtown Suwanee and includes children’s play areas, a pavilion and walking paths. It is the only community orchard in Georgia and the Southeast, according to the city.

“It will be a unique and exceptional space for discovery and exploration and offer hands-on learning opportunities with a wide variety of fruiting plants,” Roger Grant, a Harvest Farm board member and orchard landscape architect, said in a statement.

The grand opening celebration will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at 752 White Street.
