Gwinnett accepts $37K grant for trauma related equipment

Gwinnett Commissioners recently accepted a Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission EMS Trauma Related Equipment Grant in the amount of $37,171. The grant will be used for the reimbursement of trauma related equipment needed by Gwinnett’s Fire and Emergency Services Department.

This funding will specifically be used to purchase two Lucas Chest Compression Systems and accompanying warranty. The device provides mechanical chest compression to sudden cardiac arrest patients allowing emergency personnel to perform other lifesaving duties.

The grant is 100 percent funded by the Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission with no matching requirements.
