If it was a fast getaway vehicle they were looking for, a pair of gun-wielding men in Peachtree City picked the wrong set of wheels.
Police are seeking two men who allegedly tried to hijack a golf cart over the weekend.
The incident happened shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday near the Concord Village Apartments, police said.
The victims told investigators they were traveling on a multi-use path near the apartment complex when they were approached by two men, dressed all in black, each displaying a handgun, police said.
The suspects demanded the victims’ property and the key to their golf cart, police said. But rather than drive off in the cart, the men ran away in the general direction of the Braelinn Village Shopping Center.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division of the Peachtree City Police Department at 770 631-2510.
The golf cart is emblematic of Peachtree City. The Fayette County community has 90 miles of paths designated for an estimated 12,000 carts.
