Grease blamed for 5,000-gallon Gwinnett sewage spill

The spill orginated at a manhole on Traymore Drive just before 10 a.m. Friday, officials said.

Aug 8, 2016Grease caused a 5,000-gallon sewage spill last week near Lilburn, officials said.
According to the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources, the spill orginated just before 10 a.m. Friday at a manhole on Traymore Drive. It was stopped by 11:20 a.m.
"The spill was approximately 5,084 gallons in volume and entered an unnamed tributary of Beaver Ruin Creek," officials said in a news release.
Water resources workers raked the area, spread lime and alerted the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, officials said.
