DeKalb County and the Centers for Disease Control have jointly awarded the East Lake Farmers Market an $82,000 grant to expand operations.
The market is using the money to increase its hours, the seasons of farmers and, with it, boost the amount of food grown in DeKalb.
The money will also help the market develop an urban farm at its current location, at Second Avenue and Hosea Williams Drive in Atlanta.
