DragonCon co-founder Edward Kramer has bonded out of jail in Connecticut, and Gwinnett County authorities now want to find him for allegedly violating terms of his bond in a Georgia child molestation case, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Kramer was arrested in Milford, Conn., Sept. 13 after police caught him staying in a motel room with a 14-year-old boy, authorities have said. Milford police charged him with misdemeanor reckless endangerment of a child.

Kramer posted bond Thursday and was released from custody, Channel 2 reported.

Gwinnett authorities have said they want him returned to Georgia to face trial on multiple charges of child molestation and aggravated child molestation.

Kramer is an author who helped start the popular science fiction and fantasy convention DragonCon but is no longer affiliated with it. He was arrested in Gwinnett 11 years ago, but his lawyers forestalled a trial indefinitely by presenting evidence that their client was physically incompetent to stand trial.

They said Kramer suffered from a degenerative spinal condition and chronic pain that would make it impossible for him to remain alert and assist in his own defense. Kramer was under house arrest for most of the years following his arrest, until 2008, when a judge ruled that he could travel.

After Kramer’s arrest in Connecticut, Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge Karen Byers signed an order Sept. 14 revoking Kramer's bond in Georgia. Local authorities have been working to have the man extradited.
