Georgia Tech student robbed near off-campus apartment
A Georgia Tech student escaped injury early Monday when he was robbed while walking to his car just south of campus.
The incident happened about 12 a.m. Monday on Lovejoy Street between Pine and Hunnicutt streets, according to a crime alert sent out by Georgia Tech police.
"The victim as walking to his vehicle from his apartment when he was approached from behind by two black males," the alert stated. "One of the black males wearing a big, heavy dark-color jacket brandished a black handgun and demanded the victim's wallet, cell phone and keys."
That suspect, according to Tech police, was 6 feet, 5 inches tall, while the second robber was about 6 feet tall and wearing a dark knit hat.
