Nine students attending four Atlanta Public Schools learned they were admitted to Georgia Tech when college officials hand-delivered acceptance letters Friday.

This is the second year officials visited select students living in Atlanta. Chris Briggs, the assistant director of undergraduate admissions, surprised students at Grady, Stephenson, Westlake and North Atlanta high schools.

The students are being recruited by other colleges and Briggs said visiting them in a person shows "we really want them to be at" Tech.
