Georgia taxpayers set e-file record
More than 3.1 million out of about 4.1 million Georgians e-filed tax returns so far this year, according to the IRS.
“The 8.7 percentage increase from last year surpassed the total number filed for all of calendar year 2010,” said IRS spokesman Mark Green.
The IRS is also approaching another milestone of 1 billion tax returns filed electronically since the e-file program went national in 1990.
