Georgia Perimeter College received $598,000 from the National Science Foundation to provide scholarships and other support to 32 students pursing degrees in math, biology, chemistry, physics, geology, engineering or computer science. The five-year award is part of a nationwide effort to encourage more students to enter fields related to math, science and technology. The college recently received $310,000 from the University System of Georgia to hire an administrator to coordinate initiatives in those fields.
