Georgia Gwinnett College officials held a ceremony Thursday to mark the completion of the new campus library.

The building, which cost $28.3 million, will officially open next month. The old library was housed in the administration building.

The new 95,370 square-foot library can house up to 300,000 volumes. The offerings will be a mix of print and digital items.

Georgia Gwinnett opened in Lawrenceville in 2006 with about 120 students. The public, four-year college expects to enroll about 5,000 students this fall.
