Georgia Gwinnett College has been honored by the U.S. Green Building Council for its recently completed library.
The council has awarded the college its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold certification. The honor is bestowed on facilities that use less energy through design, construction and operation of sustainable buildings.
GCC's facility is the first academic library in Georgia to earn Gold certification and one of only seven in the nation. The library is the fifth Gold-certified facility in Gwinnett County.
