Finally, some good news at the pump.

The average price of regular unleaded dropped 3 cents in Georgia, to $3.44, since a week ago. It's the first time in more than a month that gas prices have fallen.

Nationally, the average price decreased 1 cent to $3.54.

"Although the national average only dropped a cent, some state averages are showing price drops between 2 and 4 cents," AAA South spokeswoman Jessica Brady said. "It's uncertain whether prices will continue to drop this week since there is still much turmoil in the Mideast that could push oil prices higher. And when Japan begins to rebuild its country, their demand for oil will increase substantially."

The average price stands at $3.44 in Atlanta, $3.45 in Athens and Columbus, and $3.43 in Macon.
