Georgia Cyber Academy, a full-time, tuition-free online public charter school, is now accepting applications for enrollment for the 2019-20 school year, according to a press release. GCA serves students in kindergarten through 12th grade across the state.

Enrollment closes on May 3 and once the number of seats filled are determined, a lottery will take place May 9, if needed.

GCA’s online platform gives students the opportunity to pursue academic excellence in a supportive environment and at an appropriate pace for their learning style. Teachers at GCA interact with students and their families via email, phone, web-based classrooms and live online discussions.

“At GCA, we are committed to meeting students where they are and giving them the support they need,” said GCA Head of School Angela Lassetter. “Our teachers and staff work closely with learning coaches and families to assist each and every student in developing a strong academic foundation that will provide them with the opportunity to fulfill their academic and personal dreams.”

GCA’s curriculum includes the core subjects of math, science, language arts, history and art, as well as a variety of electives, honors and Advanced Placement courses at the high school level. In addition, qualified students can earn college credits in select courses at local colleges through the Georgia Dual Enrollment Program. This dual enrollment program allows students to earn credits toward both a high school diploma and a college degree.

Throughout the school year, GCA builds a sense of community through in-person field trips, community service opportunities and social outings. Graduating seniors are celebrated at an in-person commencement ceremony each spring, and many go on to attend top colleges and universities across the country.
