Overnight lane closures are expected this weekend on Ga. 9 in North Fulton County – better known as West Peachtree Street and Peachtree Road in Atlanta, and Roswell Road in Buckhead and Sandy Springs – to provide safety for workers conducting paving operations.

Weather permitting, the closures are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Alternating right and left lanes will be closed on northbound Ga. 9 from Northside Drive to Deering Road in Midtown Atlanta, while one right lane will be closed on southbound Ga. 9 from I-285 in Sandy Springs to West Peachtree in Midtown.

“The closures will ensure safety for drivers and workers as crews patch and pave several key intersections and turn lanes,” GDOT said. “This work is part of a milling, inlay, patching and resurfacing and restriping project, designed to improve the condition of the roadway on Ga. 9 … from Northside Drive (in Atlanta) to Lake Placid Drive in Sandy Springs.”
