The DeKalb County Federation of Garden Clubs will honor the state’s Commissioner of Veteran Services for his commitment to the military.
The organization will present Commissioner Pete Wheeler with its “Life Member of the Year” award Thursday at its annual luncheon.
The garden club awards life memberships to citizens who have contributed sacrificial service to the community, Peg Harriss of the DeKalb Federation. The DeKalb Federation represents 39 garden clubs in the county.
