Funeral for East Point firefighter

The funeral for East Point fire fighter Carl Blake, who died in a motorcycle accident, was held at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church in College Park.

Carl Blake's children, Travis Blake (left) and Arielle Jackson, read a poem about their father. After a motorcade of police and fire units arrived at the church, services were held that included presentations from East Pint Mayor Earnestine Pittman accompanied by council members, Blake's children, and remarks from fire chief Rosemary Cloud and friends.

Carl Blake's uncle, Carlton Wood, or "Uncle Carlton" as he called himself, who said Carl was his namesake, hugs a family member after making remarks.

After the service, a receiving line of friends and co-workers paid respects to the family members before processing out.

Following the services a fire truck carried the casket up I-285 in a long motorcade to his interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Atlanta. Pall bearers form an honor guard after the casket has been loaded into a fire truck for the motorcade to the cemetery.
