The Forsyth County animal shelter is waiving the standard $85 pet adoption fee through the holidays.

The fee waiver, part of the “Home for the Holidays”promotion which runs through Jan. 2., includes microchipping for animals, alterations and age-appropriate vaccinations. Shelter director Cindy Iacopella said they’re also looking for volunteers, people willing to foster animals and pet food, toy and bedding donations.

The shelter’s just off Ga. 400 at 4065 County Way in northern Forsyth and is open from 10:30 a.m.to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. It’ll be closed Dec. 25 and 26 for Christmas and Jan. 1. for New Year’s Day.
