A Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office announced its unit responsible for going after aggressive drivers is funded for another year, thanks to a grant from the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

Sheriff Ron H. Freeman’s office has been awarded a $207,000 grant from the H.E.A.T. (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) program.

The program “allows us to participate in a multi-jurisdictional task force specifically designed to combat aggressive and impaired drivers across Georgia,” according to a Sheriff’s Office announcement. “This program also provides the education and materials to assist in reducing the number of crashes, fatalities and injuries on our highways.”
