The Forsyth County Democratic Party is putting on a Presidential Block Party from 4 p.m. to dusk Saturday near the Cumming Fairgrounds at Maple Street and Castleberry Road.
Organizers say the event, held to honor the president's 50th birthday, will feature local entertainment and refreshments.
"Right now, we're just a blue pinhead in a sea of red," said Sharon Gunter, who heads the county Democratic Party. "We wanted to let others know we're part of the community."
