Two former Division of Family and Children Services employees have pleaded guilty to their roles in a scheme to steal $600,000 in food stamps.

Gene Tell, of East Point, and Kristy Nicole Williams, of Decatur, both of whom worked for DeKalb County DFCS, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and wire fraud charges in federal court in Atlanta. State Attorney General Sam Olens, whose office helped prosecute the case, said Tell and Williams "stole hundreds of thousands of dollars intended for some of our neediest citizens who rely on assistance to put food on the table."
