The race for Cherokee County sheriff has drawn a longtime Cherokee resident and veteran law enforcer.

Frank Reynolds, Reynolds, 44, announced his candidacy last week. He’s currently the manager of field operations for the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office. Reynolds also worked for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office for more than 10 years, including a long stint on the agency’s SWAT team.

Reynolds is vying to replace Roger Garrison, who plans to retire when his current term ends after a more-than 20 year run as head of the agency.
