Forest Park police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a home Thursday, and they are requesting the public's help in finding a missing vehicle.
Officers conducted a welfare check at a home in the 5000 block of Lorraine Place when out-of-town family members reported their concerns after being unable to reach a woman for several days, Forest Park police spokesman Maj. Chris Matson said in the news release.
Police found a woman's body inside the home, but a positive identification has not yet been made, he said. The GBI is performing an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Police said they are treating the case as a homicide.
Authorities also said they are looking for a missing vehicle that belongs to the occupant of the home. Anyone who sees a gray, four-door, 1999 Ford Contour with Georgia tag AYS6506 should contact the Forest Park Police Department, 404-366-7280.
