Food for the Poor focuses on Jamaica

Food for the Poor is sponsoring a fall fundraiser to help  build schools in Jamaica.

The third annual Atlanta event for  Food for the Poor, "New Hope, New Beginnings" will be held at 6:30 p.m.  Sept. 10 at the W Atlanta-Buckhead hotel, 3377 Peachtree Road NE.

The Jamaica school construction program will build new schools and replace older, run-down buildings.

The evening will feature music, a silent auction, dancing and dinner. Tickers are $125 per person.

Food for the Poor is a Florida-based international nonprofit organization that feeds the poor in several nations in the Caribbean and Latin America.
