Flooding in Gilmer, Pickens counties

This is Clear Creek in Gilmer County. It flash flooded so quickly it caught residents by surprise. The creek went down almost as quickly as it went up

Trees litter Blackberry Mountain Road.

The rushing water ripped this tree out of the ground.

Rescue crews had to use boats to get the Gardners out of their home. Now it's all a big muddy mess.

Pat Lipham talked to Gilmer County's Fire Chief Tony Pritchett. His crews rescued her out of her house after the flood water knocked it off its foundation.

George and Sylvia Evans have been married 53-years and decided to to evacuate even though the flood waters got into their home. They're thankful they survived but did lose many of their animals.

The flood waters ripped this deck off its footings and smashed it against a tree.
