The FBI Atlanta Field Office is asking the public to help identify two people accused of robbing a Brinks armored truck in Cobb County.

The two men, one armed with an “assault-style rifle,” approached a Brink’s employee and demanded money around 1:50 p.m. Friday, April 26 at 888 Concord Road in Smyrna, the FBI said.

The employee’s handgun and an undisclosed amount of cash were taken during the robbery, the FBI added. The pair were seen leaving the area in a dark blue, four-door sedan.

The man carrying the rifle has shoulder-length dreadlocks, a slim build and is about 6 feet tall. He was wearing a mask with marijuana leaves on it and one of his arms was covered with a sleeve, “indicating he might be concealing a tattoo or scar,” the FBI said.

The second suspect, who was captured on surveillance camera carrying the employee’s handgun and cash, is about 6’3’’ tall and was wearing a partial mask and a light-colored Nike baseball hat.

Brinks is offering $5,000 reward for information that leads to police catching the two men. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577 TIPS (8477). You can also submit a crime tip by visiting the Crime Stoppers Atlanta website.
