Fayette County authorities on Monday identified the motorist killed in a single-vehicle wreck Saturday night on Ga. 92.

The wreck happened shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Ga. 92 and Peters Road.

Fayette sheriff’s Major Bryan Woodie said in an e-mail that Carrie W. Dunn, 37, of Fayetteville, was driving a 1995 Geo Tracker northbound when she lost control, ran off the roadway and was ejected.

Dunn, who was alone in the car, was taken to Piedmont-Fayette Hospital, where she later died.

Woodie said Dunn was not wearing a seatbelt.

“This is the second crash in Fayette County in less than 30 days where the decedents were not wearing their seatbelts, were ejected from their vehicles and suffered fatal injuries in what was otherwise a survivable crash,” Woodie said.
