Police arrested two men who attempted to rob a Fayetteville restaurant over the weekend.

Shortly before 3 a.m. on Saturday, Fayetteville police received a robbery report from the Atlanta Bread Co. on Pavilion Parkway.

Police were told that two masked men entered the store and one pointed a gun at the restaurant employee demanding the key to the office.

When the employee couldn't produce the key, police said the bandits forced their way into the office, but were unable to open the safe.

They fled with no money in a white Acura, and a Fayetteville police soon arrived.

A Fayette County sheriff's deputy heard the lookout over the radio for the Acura, and stopped the car on Georgia Highway 314 near Georgia Highway 138, authorities said.

The deputy discovered the gun police say was used in the robbery, as well as the masks and the clothing the men were wearing during the robbery, authorities said.

Quentin Weems, 30, of Atlanta, and Jamel McAllister, 24, of College Park, were both arrested and charged with armed robbery, burglary, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, among other charges.

Both remain in jail without bond.
