The annual Rivers Alive cleanup of Fayette County lakes, rivers and streams is scheduled for 9-11:30 a.m. on Oct. 20.

Volunteers will meet at Tyrone Town Hall, 881 Senoia Road, before heading out to remove trash and other debris that negatively affects drinking water, recreation and wildlife habitat. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from cleanup sites, and should wear weather-appropriate clothing and shoes in addition to bringing their own work gloves and bottled water.

Volunteers under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and all workers must have a signed liability waiver, available at www.tyrone.org or www.fayettecountyga.gov.
