Fayette County Public Schools’ annual financial audit has shown no irregularities. The county recently received a letter from the Georgia Department of Education’s Financial Review Department stating that “there are no findings and/or questioned costs” regarding the FY2016 report.

The audit was conducted by Mauldin & Jenkins, which noted that the school system complied with all requirements for federal grant money, of which Fayette received $9.3 million related to instruction, school nutrition and other programs. The Board of Education reviewed the findings at its meeting Monday night and voted 4-0-1 to accept them.
