Fayette BOE approves track pavilion
Starr’s Mill High School got approval from the Fayette County Board of Education Monday to build a pavilion for use at track and field events. The school’s booster club will fund construction of the 72-foot by 24-foot structure in a currently unused corner of the track area.
The pavilion will provide a covered area for track meet check-in, coaches meetings and athletes’ personal belongings during practice, as well as storage space. Construction will take two to three weeks and is expected to finish in time for the spring track season. The boosters will also be reponsible for the structure’s maintenance.
