Fayette County residents have a week to complete their outdoor burning.

The county's outdoor burning ban goes into effect May 1 and will run until Oct. 1, the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services said.

Residents have until the end of April to apply for a burn permit. Permits may be obtained by calling 770-305-5468.
