Renovations and additions at several Fayette County schools and the new headquarters building for the school system are continuing, according to a report provided to the Board of Education on Sept. 24.

Final “punch list” work to new and/or renovated classrooms is being done at Fayette County High, Starr’s Mill High, Rising Starr Middle and Peeples Elementary. The foundation, basement walls and slabs have been poured for classroom additions at McIntosh High, with steel being erected in the coming week. At Fayette County High’s new auditorium, masonry work is continuing and interior finishing work has begun; however, rain has delayed completion until late November.

Major demolition and preliminary electrical, HVAC and plumbing work has been done at the LaFayette Educational Center, which will house the administrative offices by the end of the year.
