The Henry County Library System has announced a series of events that will have a different branch open extended hours the first Friday of every month.

Each night will have a specific themed event, but all library services will be available from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at that location. The rotation begins Sept. 6 at the McDonough library, which is the headquarters branch for the system, with a “Superhero Academy” theme. A few weeks before Halloween, the Cochran Library in Stockbridge will host an event based on the Disney film “Hocus Pocus.” The next two installments, Nov. 1 at Fairview Library and Dec. 6 at Fortson Library in Hampton, will have Harry Potter-related activities.
