An ethics complaint filed against Peachtree City Councilman Mike King has been dismissed following a legal review. The complaint, filed May 17 by city resident John L. Dufresne, alleged that King, acting as mayor pro tem, violated a public hearing procedure during the Jan. 15 council meeting.

Carrollton attorney Thomas E. Greer, who reviewed the complaint according to provisions of the Peachtree City Code of Ethics, concluded that the complaint was not filed in a timely manner and was “unjustified, frivolous, and patently unfounded.”

On Aug. 4 the council voted 4-0-1 (with King recused) to accept Greer’s recommendation that the complaint be dismissed.
