EPA Chief to visit Atlanta on job training mission

July 11, 2011

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa P. Jackson will be in Atlanta Tuesday to announce the 2011 national environmental workforce development and job training grant recipients.

The federal agency’s Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training Program helps provide unemployed individuals with skills to secure full time, sustainable jobs that help to clean up toxic chemicals in communities, advance the country’s clean energy projects and support environmental initiatives.

She will be joined by Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed for the 10 a.m. program at the Southface Energy Institute, 241 Pine Street.
