Franklin Taylor on Monday got the answers he wanted from an Atlanta brake repair shop — but he isn’t happy about the news.

He told Channel 2 Action News that when he picked up his 1976 Mercedes 450 SL from Just Brakes on Howell Mill Road, both sides were smashed and the car had damage to its interior.

Taylor said the car was in fantastic condition when he dropped it off, but now one of the doors won’t even open.

“I asked them what happened and everybody shut down,” Taylor told the news station.

Taylor said an employee told him someone must have hit a wall when backing out, but a manager wouldn’t confirm anything to Channel 2.

However, a spokesman for Just Brakes later confirmed to Channel 2 that a problem with the car’s ability to go in reverse led to the damage.

That company official told Channel 2 that customer trust is a priority and Just Brakes will do everything to make this right, including paying for all of the repairs.
