An elderly woman hurt in a car accident at the intersection of Canton Road and Jamerson Road in Marietta has died on her injuries, police said.
On Oct. 16, Beatrice Toriano, 87, was driving her 2011 Toyota Rav 4 south on Canton Road approaching Jamerson Road when she collided with a white Nissan Frontier driven by Donna Baughman, 69, of Bowlingbrook, who was traveling north on Canton Road approaching Jamerson Road, according to investigators.
Toriano failed to yield and turned left in front of Baughman, according to police. Baughman was unable to avoid colliding with Toriano, investigators said.
Both Toriano and Baughman were taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital after the accident, police said. Toriano died Tuesday, Oct. 25, as a result of her injuries. Investigators did not provide information on Baughman's condition.
No charges are expected to be filed in this investigation, authorities said.
