An 83-year-old southwest Atlanta man was shot and killed early Thursday, and the victim's son was arrested and charged with murder.
Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones told the AJC that officers responding to a 1:56 a.m. person shot call in the 1800 block of Austin Road found Richard Taylor on a couch, dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.
"Witnesses identified the victim's son, Daniel Taylor, as the suspect," Jones said. She said Daniel Taylor, 25, was detained for questioning, and later charged with murder and taken to the Fulton County Jail.
Jones said Thursday afternoon that investigators had not determined a motive for the shooting.
