The East Point Department of Parks and Recreation has announced that the Jefferson Park Recreation Center will be closing for maintenance over the holiday season.

“The department’s mission is to provide well-maintained facilities and to preserve resources,” wrote Parks Director Jonathon Penn in a memo to staff and resident. “In doing so, the gymnasium and community room two at Jefferson Park Recreation Center must be treated and resurfaced on a bi-annual basis.”

The floors are scheduled to be treated and resurfaced Dec. 27-31. The facility will be closed to the public during this period. The facility will reopen after the New Year holiday on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
