An East Point man has been arrested in Maryland on accusations he shot and fatally stabbed his roommate, authorities said.

Kevin Middleton is being held without bond  in the Prince George’s County jail as a fugitive awaiting extradition to Georgia, jail records show.

Javon Suggs, 27, was found dead with a gunshot wound and stab wounds in his abdomen inside the East Point apartment  he shared in the 3200 block of Lakeview Place with Middleton on March 30 , authorities said.

"Apparently, there was an ongoing domestic dispute," East Point Police Lt. Cliff Chandler said.

Chandler told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that police filed a warrant last week for Middleton’s arrest on murder and aggravated assault charges in connection with Suggs’ death.

"Mr. Middleton moved into the apartment with his girlfriend," Chandler said. "Mr. Suggs had a problem with the way that the girlfriend and Mr. Middleton were interacting in the apartment."

Police said this was the impetus for the ongoing feud.

"The conflict grew to a head," resulting in the attack, Chandler said.

The Washington Post reports that Middleton, 24, was arrested Friday in his hometown of Oxon Hills, Maryland, where he reportedly fled after Suggs' slaying.

Working with East Point police investigators, Prince George's police contacted Middleton there, and he turned himself in, The Washington Post reports.

It is unclear at this time who owned the gun used in the attack or how the attack was initiated.

Chandler said Middleton's girlfriend is not being implicated in Suggs' death.
