An East Point lawyer is in a south Alabama jail after being arrested on charges involving an investment scheme.
Samuel Williams Jr., 50, reported to the Baldwin County jail April 19 and was in jail Monday on $75,000 bond, according to the jail website. Charges include 10 counts of securities fraud, the Press-Register in Mobile reported.
The Alabama Securities Commission investigated transactions involving Synergy Finance Group LLC, a company near Mobile. Investors may have lost millions of dollars through sales of bogus securities, the newspaper reported.
