The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously at its Oct. 15 regular meeting to table a rezoning request for 50.4 acres at the northeast corner of East Lake Road and Springdale Road.
The requested change was from RA (residential-agricultural) to RS (residential suburban) so that up to 184 units in a variety of residential types such as duplexes and townhomes could be developed.
After a motion by Commissioner Vivian Thomas to approve the request with conditions died for lack of a second, the board was advised by legal counsel to take some kind of action via a successful motion, so Thomas moved to withdraw the request so it can be brought back later after more discussion on the specifics of the project.
