There was no warning before a deck collapsed early Friday at a bar in East Atlanta Village.
"It was done in a second," said Patryce Yeiser, manager of My Sister's Room. The club is now closed for renovations.
A dozen people were injured during the incident, which happened shortly before 2 a.m. at 1271 Glenwood Ave., according to Atlanta police dispatchers.
Seven of the injured were taken to Atlanta Medical Center, and another five were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Elizabeth Spencer, night administrator at Grady, said five women were treated for injuries that she described as "not serious — certainly not life-threatening."
All of those treated at Grady were released Friday.
And all of those taken to Atlanta Medical Center were released Friday by 8:30 a.m., according to Kendra Gerlach, hospital spokeswoman. The club patrons were treated for lacerations, bruises and abrasions, she said.
The club is closed for renovations and hopes to reopen on June 25, Yeiser said Friday evening.
"It was a busy night, but we weren't slammed," Yeiser said of the incident. "It wasn't over-occupancy."
Yeiser said the remainder of the deck was demolished, and there are no plans to rebuild it.
My Sister's Room first opened in Midtown in 1996 before moving to Decatur in 1998. The club then re-opened in East Atlanta two years ago.
"We're going to take this as an opportunity to close and do some needed renovations," she said.
