Six Dunwoody police officers hope to raise at least $10,000 through their participation Saturday in the 2011 Polar Plunge, which benefits Special Olympics Georgia.
The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Lake Lanier Islands. The Polar Plunge will have food, music, costume contests, a bounce house, dunking booths and Special Olympics athlete appearances, among other things.
For those interested in making a donation, they should go to http://www.firstgiving.com/process/teamarea/default.asp?did=2093&TeamId=125570&EventID=97328. Those who want to plunge should go to www.polarplungega.com or register at Lake Lanier at 11 a.m.
