Duluth is ready to help nurture young musicians. The Duluth Public Art Commission has proposed installing an interactive musical instrument park at WP Jones Park, 3750 Pleasant Hill Road. “Melody Lane” will become a permanent installation in a 12-foot by 12-foot area of the park. Possible instruments include contrabass chimes, tuned drums and musical flowers.

The Duluth City Council recently approved the installation plan and waived any permitting fees associated with the installation. Funds for the project totaling approximately $17,700 is budgeted through Public Art Acquisition Funding.
