Dozens of firefighters in Gwinnett County climbed a step higher on the career ladder this week.

During a promotional ceremony Wednesday evening, the Gwinnett County Department of Fire and Emergency Services announced the promotions of 36 driver engineers, 25 lieutenants, 11 captains, four battalion chiefs, two district commanders (deputy chiefs) and one assistant chief.

The ceremony was held at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in Lawrenceville.
