Douglasville motorcyclist killed in Cobb

A Douglasville man who was riding a motorcycle without lights on Wednesday night died after a car crashed into him from behind, police said.

Robert Luther Pearson, 50, was riding a 1987 Honda east on C.H. James Parkway when a 2005 Chevrolet Impala struck him near Garrett Road in Austell  just before 10 p.m., Cobb County Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said.

The driver of the car, Justin Michael Wallace, 21, also of Douglasville, was uninjured. He has not been charged in the accident.

Pierce said the preliminary investigation indicated that the motorcycle lights were off.
