A 17-year-old Douglas County boy pleaded guilty Friday in connection to a DUI crash that killed one person and injured several others, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Jason Lark was sentenced to seven years in prison for the February wreck that killed 16-year-old Cheyenne Sauls, who was a Villa Rica High School sophomore.

Lark apologized to Sauls' family, saying, "Every day I wish it was me. Every day of my life. It should have been me. I take full responsibility for what I did," according to Channel 2.

Sauls' family had agreed to the plea deal.

Lark, the driver, lost control of a Chevrolet Blazer on Pleasant Drive in Douglas County. The vehicle flipped several times before hitting a U-Haul truck. Sauls died and two other passengers were seriously hurt.

Charges against Lark included driving under the influence and first-degree vehicular homicide. Passenger Dustin Willis also was charged in connection with the case and said in August that he wanted to negotiate a plea deal.

Authorities charged 10 people with helping to supply alcohol at two parties the teens attended prior to the crash. Those people include Todd McAllister, Douglasville’s chief code enforcement officer, and a liquor store owner.
